We're thrilled to announce our newest collaborative venture with Kyoto's esteemed and historic bag maker, Ichizawa Hanpu. Since 1908, Ichizawa Hanpu has been crafting durable canvas bags in Japan, and we hold great pride in being their only stockist outside of their single shop in Kyoto.
If you're a regular at Trunk, you might already be familiar with the design of this bag, inspired by a craftsman's tool bag. However, this latest version is crafted from Ichizawa's own linen canvas, departing from their traditional cotton.
Exclusively woven by Ichizawa using European-grown linen yarn, this fabric is set to age beautifully (see here), developing its own unique patina, particularly when exposed to sunlight. Soft yet durable, we believe this tote is not only perfect for everyday use but also an ideal companion for summer adventures, whether you're hitting the beach or exploring the city.
What sets this bag apart is its simple yet functional design. It features an external patch pocket, an internal zipper pocket for securing essentials, a linen string closure, and bespoke brass finishings. The handles are designed for comfortable carrying over your shoulder or at your side, making it versatile for various occasions.
With just the right size for everyday use, this bag is also spacious enough for a day trip or as a carry-on for your travels.
The Ichizawa Hanpu Linen Tool Bag Bag is now available both in-store and online, but hurry, as we have only a limited number in stock of each colour.
