Introducing our latest journal feature, Trunk Explores Zürich. This time, we’re taking you on a journey through a few places we enjoy in the city with Mats Klingberg, founder and director of Trunk. From sipping coffee on the terrace of the newly opened Mandarin Oriental Savoy to discovering serene swimming spots, join us as we experience Zürich’s unique charm and vibrant culture.
1. 1838 (Mandarin Oriental Savoy)
On our first stop, we visited the newly opened Rooftop 1838 at the Mandarin Oriental, a lovely spot right above the Paradeplatz to enjoy a coffee or a drink. It offers an amazing view of the city, with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
2. Pavillon Le Corbusier
The Pavillon Le Corbusier is a museum in Seefeld dedicated to the work of the Swiss architect Le Corbusier. It is the only building of his made out of glass and steel, and its vibrant colors just by the shore of Lake Zürich are an ideal backdrop for an afternoon of art and inspiration. The unique architecture and serene location make it a must-see for anyone interested in design and culture.
3. Seebad Utoquai
Seebad Utoquai and its surroundings are a must-visit during the sunny summer days. Utoquai is one of Zürich's most popular swimming baths and one of our favorites, located just a few minutes away from our shop. This area is great for a quick dip and a refreshing escape from the heat.
4. The Monocle Shop & Café
To wrap the afternoon with a flourish, we visited The Monocle Shop & Café, our sister company and neighbour. Here we enjoyed the lively and colourful atmosphere, discovered the latest issues of our favourite magazines, and indulged in some delicious treats from their menu.
